Ringette Ontario Offers Online Programming to Members

0 14

February 8th, 2021— Ringette Ontario has been committed to helping our members stay connected to the game of ringette both on and off the ice. Under the leadership of Executive Director, Pamela Julian and Technical Director, Karla Xavier, RO has developed online programming for coaches, athletes, Associations, and officials.

Each program has been designed to help members develop mental and physical skills to help them thrive in their daily training and playing environments.

Here is a summary of the programs Ringette Ontario is offering for the 2020-2021 season:

High-Performance Program

The High-Performance Ringette Program provides our athletes with opportunities to work with coaches and specialist to learn and develop under a program geared towards preparing them to represent their Associations at the 2022 Ontario Winter Games, their province at 2023 Canada Winter Games, play in the National Ringette League (NRL) and represent Canada at the World Ringette Championships.

The High-Performance Program will work to provide participants with the daily training environment that will support each athlete in attaining their personal success and individual goals. The HP Program will include a year-round commitment with training plans tailored to athletes and that align with a full season calendar for ringette.

Athlete Webinar Series

The Athlete Webinar Series provides ringette players with the opportunity to attend interactive webinars led by sports professionals and veteran ringette players. Workshops will cover topics such as mental health, communication, and team building, nutrition, and ringette pathways. There will also be practical sessions with a focus on mobility basics and yoga!

Junior Coach Program

Building on Ringette Ontario’s existing Junior Coach Program, the 2021 Junior Coaches Leadership Series provides participants with the opportunity to develop their coaching and leadership skills. Webinars will include practice planning sessions, a mobility workshop and will focus on developing leadership and communication skills.

Coach Series

Ringette coaches across the province will meet weekly to discuss topics such as bullying prevention, building effective bench staff, and conduct video reviews. Coaches can earn up to 3 professional development points for attending three or more workshops.
