When was the last time the Kings had a world-class sniper? Jari Kurri? Please refresh my failing memory...
...I'm sure most people here will be quick to point out that Jeff Carter was once considered to be a top-tier sniper. But those days appear to be well behind him. I thought Tyler Toffoli fit that bill, but he's gone...and lighting it up back in Canada.
Take a look at the elite pure snipers today in the NHL...
...of course, at the top of the list is Ovechkin. Then you probably have Tarasenko, Rantanen, Kucherov, Kane, Seguin, Benn and Tavares somewhere up there near the top...but the Kings desperately need find find another pure shooter that can punch one through the eye of a needle. It's one of our most pressing needs, IMHO.
I know they don't grow on trees....so what about our prospects? I have to admit I don't know much about the kids coming up. Any pure snipers in the bunch?
