With over 3,000 total votes submitted, our readers have selected eight jerseys to advance into Round 2 of the Reverse Retro Cup.Several of the earlier matchups saw runaway winners, including: Carolina over Tampa Bay, and Colorado defeating Calgary.
On the flip side, there were a number of first round ‘series’ that came down to the wire. For example, Washington snuck past Buffalo by less than 10 votes. Montreal took out the NY Rangers by an equally slim margin.
One upset occurred in Round 1, as No. 5 Arizona eliminated No. 4 Chicago after capturing 59% of the votes when they faced off.
Like any good seven-game series, though, winners look ahead… and we can now release the Round 2 bracket:
Eastern Conference
1. Carolina Hurricanes vs 4. Washington Capitals
2. Montreal Canadiens vs. 3. Florida Panthers
Western Conference
1. Colorado Avalanche vs 5. Arizona Coyotes
2. Los Angeles Kings vs 3. Minnesota Wild
