NHL fans react to the Dallas Stars' slick new Blackout jerseys

The Dallas Stars took one look at the Vegas Golden Knights bold glitter jerseys and said, you know what, we’re gonna raise you.

As part of the NHL’s adidas partnership, the Stars unveiled their Blackout third jersey on Wednesday, which are an eye catching neon green that practically glows in the dark. It will be the first time since 2006 that the team will have a third jersey. According to the team, the jerseys will use black as the base color for the sweaters as a nod to Dallas’ “jersey heritage.” Also for the first time, the State of Texas crest will be used on the jersey front.

For a conservative league, these uniforms really stand out. I’m not sure if the Matrix-like effect will translate as well onto the ice under full arena lights, but it’s going to to look really freaking cool when the Stars enter a dark arena. Just imagine, it’ll be like watching a game in Tron.

NHL fans seemed overall impressed with the new designs, but couldn’t resist making a few jokes.
