July 9 summer league update please click here !!

0 8

So Here’s where we’re at on July 9, 2020 with regards to summer hockey. The state of Massachusetts, in their infinite wisdom, has now categorized men’s league no-contact hockey as high risk in their Phase 3 Step 1 protocol. This now means there is no game play of any sort allowed in Massachusetts, meaning games, scrimmages, and even pick up (although many private rinks are bending this rule in an effort to survive financially). Mass Hockey has petitioned the State and Charlie Baker to change our “no contact” sport of ice hockey to moderate severity in which case we could start playing immediately if it’s passed (please go to Mass Hockey website and sign the petition, I did already). That being said, as of today there is no confirmation from the State to allow us to start the summer league which means we are “on hold” for now. I told FMC that I will give them until next week to figure this all out and at that point I would have to either start the summer session or regrettably have to cancel it and start focusing on the Fall league (which is just around the corner anyways, deposits due Aug 1). If the summer league is cancelled then anyone who has sent in a payment would obviously either receive a credit towards fall league or a full refund for those who don’t play fall. Let’s hope they let us back on the ice and we can put this all behind us and start playing some hockey !! Stay tuned !!
