Jordan Spence named QMJHL Defenseman of the Year
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League today released the winner of the Émile-Bouchard Trophy awarded to the Defenseman of the Year. The 2019-2020 finalists were Justin Bergeron (Rimouski Océanic), Jordan Spence (Moncton Wildcats) and William Villeneuve (Saint John Sea Dogs).
Recipient of this award in 2016–2017, former Saint John Sea Dogs defenseman Thomas Chabot announces this season's Émile-Bouchard Trophy winner. The Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce native played four seasons in the QMJHL with the Sea Dogs and earned a President Cup title in 2017. In 202 regular season games, Chabot scored 34 goals and added 119 helpers, all while adding an impressive 45 points in 40 post-season games. In 2015, he was a first round selection of the Ottawa Senators at the NHL Entry Draft. Chabot was also ranked 24th on the list of the QMJHL’s Top 50 players of all-time as part of the league's 50th anniversary celebrations last year.
