Jakob Pelletier wins the Frank-J.-Selke Trophy

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League asked former Chicoutimi Saguenéens centerman David Desharnais to announce the 2019-2020 Frank-J.-Selke award-winner. This trophy acknowledges the most sportsmanlike player of the past QMJHL season. The recipient is a player who proved his efficiency on the ice, all while showing respect for his opponents and officials and avoiding the penalty bench.

Today's special presenter won the award no less than three times during his major junior career. In addition to being an exemplary player, David Desharnais largely contributed on the ice by registering 374 points (126 goals and 248 assists) in 262 regular season games with the Saguenéens. The Laurier-Station native piled up another 43 points in the President Cup Playoffs as his team reached the QMJHL's semi-final twice. Following an amazing junior career, the 5'7'' forward played 524 games in the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens, Edmonton Oilers and New York Rangers.
