Hockey veteran booked on charges of using fake caste certificate to get job

The Hyderabad police on Wednesday arrested triple Olympian and former India hockey team captain Mukesh Kumar for allegedly illegally obtaining a Scheduled Caste (SC) certificate.Kumar had allegedly obtained a certificate of the Mala community from Trimulgherry Tahasildar office here. He did so to get a job in an Indian Air Lines.D Rajesh, Circle Inspector of Bowenpally police station said, "Four days ago we received a complaint from Trimulgherry Tahasildar stating that Mukesh Kumar who was former national Hockey player has obtained SC Mala community certificate illegally from Trimulgherry Tahasildar office, as Mukesh is of Backward Class (BC) - A Nayee Brahman community and through the SC certificate he got job in Indian Air Lines Earlier.
