[Men's Hockey] Warriors Open Season with Sweep of Waldorf

FREMONT, Neb. – It was a battles of Warriors this weekend on the ice as Midland University hosted Waldorf University at Sidner Ice Arena. It was the season opener for the Warriors of Midland and the second weekend of action for the Warriors of Waldorf. Both teams are members of the North American Intercollegiate Hockey Association, a league comprised men's hockey teams from universities with ties to the NAIA in other sports. Midland is in their first year as a member of the NAIHA while Waldorf is in their second.

Midland took the Friday night series opener by a score of 6-0 over Waldorf. They were able to take advantage of costly penalties of the away team as they scored on three power play chances. Despite the shot chart being somewhat close, 35-29 in favor of Midland, the game was not as close on the ice.
