England call-up for Leek Seniors

Three members of Leek Hockey Club have been selected For England Hockey Masters to play at the Exin Masters World Cup in Barcelona later this month.

Paul Nixon has been selected for the England Hockey Masters Over 35’s - Nico played in all three games in Masters Home Nations tournament in Belfast, where they came out Winners of the competition.

Matt Boardman and Ant Mellor have been selected for the England Hockey Masters Over 45’s, they too played in the Masters Home Nations tournament in Belfast, winning two of their three matches to finish runners up.

All three players are off to Barcelona for the Masters World Cup! The tournament runs from 27th July - 5th August, with 135 teams from 25 countries. Information on the tournament can be found on their website http://wcmasters2018.eu/

Leek Hockey Club is very proud to have not only it's Junior members making it into the England Hockey Teams but three of their 'older boys' doing the same! Good luck to them all!
