As 2017 officially disappears in the rear view mirror, we can finally look back at everything that happened in the calendar year. One that started with a bang with 22 goals in 2 games, and ended with a double header in Port Alberni. Here is a statistical look back at the 2017 calendar year for the Powell River Kings: The Kings compiled a record of 41-16-4-6 including playoffs in 2017, going 15-3-1 to start the year, 7-2-0-2 in the playoffs and 19-11-3-4 so far this regular season. Thats a .612 win percentage. During those 67 games, the Kings scored 274 goals at 4.09 per game, while conceding 179 at 2.67 per contest. With the offence, it’s not surprising that the Kings scored 4 or more goals in 40 of their 66 games, and conceded 2 or less in 38. The most common scoreline this year? 2-1 and 4-2. A 2-1 score happened 8 times in 2017, however the Kings managed the win in just 2 of those games. Of the 8 4-2 games, the Kings had 5 wins. The team also played in 6 4-1 games…all wins.
