Dámaso García, Dead at 63 (Toronto Mike)

Dámaso García was 63. He played second base for my Toronto Blue Jays from 1980 through 1986, earning all-star status twice, and batting over .300 twice. I'll never forget him burning his uniform in an attempt to end a slump on May 14, 1986.
15 years ago, I wrote Damaso a "thank you". Lest we forget, he was given six months to live way back in 1990.
