[Men's Golf] Joey Medora Named All-Conference

0

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) released this year's golf all conference awards Friday morning. Holy Cross junior Joey Medora was one of the five golfers named all-conference.

Medora saved his best rounds for his final regular season competition, blowing out the rest of the field in the CCAC Championship in Silvis, Illinois. The California native fired in a two-under 70 during the first round and followed that up with an even par 72 at TPC Deere Run to win by six strokes.

Medora has had a strong start to his junior campaign in the fall when he won the Crosstown Clash firing a 68 against rivals Bethel and IU-South Bend. He took home another top ten finish in October at the Battle at Blackthorn, where he finished tied for 10th place in the twelve team tournament. At the Egypt Valley Intercollegiate, that hosted a talented sixteen squad field, Medora finished in 4th place after rounds of 71 and 74. In fitting fashion, Medora started off the spring season with a 4th place finish at the Purgatory Intercollegiate out of 81 total golfers. After struggling for two tournaments late in the spring, Medora turned his game up with his performance at TPC Deere Run in the CCAC Championship.

The Holy Cross athletic department would like to congratulate Joey for his championship and all-conference award. Please stay connected with Saints Athletics at @hocrosaints on Twitter and Instagram. When Medora takes on the NAIA's best in the middle of May in the NAIA National Championship we will have live coverage of each round.
