Flossmoor, Ill. – Shooting an 82 each of the two rounds, Saint Xavier University senior Taylor Thompson (Galesburg, Ill./Knoxville) finished the 2017 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Golf Championship in a tie for second place overall with a combined score of 164 Friday at Flossmoor Country Club in Flossmoor, Ill. As a team, the Cougars finished in third place in the 10-team conference event with a combined score of 710 (366, 344) to conclude their 2016-17 season. Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.) won the team title with a total score of 674 and claimed the automatic bid to the 2017 NAIA Women's Golf National Championship in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Unfortunately for SXU, Thompson did not qualify as an individual for the NAIA National Championship based on her conference finish.
