Sunscreen for Golfers!

Tips to Improve your long game... Did you know that NSW men over the age of 50 are twice as likely to be diagnosed with melanoma and three times more likely to die from it than women of a similar age?  It’s not too late to reduce your risk of skin cancer. Whatever your age, make sun protection part of your routine to improve your long game. You can reduce your sun exposure with our tailored sun protection tips for golfers. Add these into your golf day and you’ll be well on your way to improving your long game and reducing your skin cancer risk. At Home • Check the daily UV level using the SunSmart app on your phone. • A UV level of 3 and above means you need full sun protection so make sure you SLIP on a long sleeved shirt, SLOP on SPF 30+ broad spectrum and water resistant sunscreen and pack your wide brim hat and sunglasses in your bag to take with you. Before Tee-off • If you missed applying sunscreen at home, apply a dry touch/active sunscreen for a non-greasy grip. • Take a sunscreen tube with you so you can re-apply out on the course. During play • Sunscreen rubs and sweats off so re-apply after 2 hours to stay protected. • Where possible, stand in the shade as you wait for play. Adopting a sun protection routine reduces your skin cancer risk, no matter your age, so keep these simple steps in mind every time you play.
