[Women's Golf] Women's Golf Takes 7th at Rumble at The Rock

Peru, Ind. - The Holy Cross women's golf team finished their final spring match of the season before competing in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. The Saints finished in 7th place at Rock Hollow in Peru, Indiana over the weekend. Natalia Campbell and Jenna VandenBerg led the way for the Saints.

 

Campbell took on the challenging Rock Hollow course and took home another top 5 finish. The freshman, who has not finished outside the top 10 all year, fired in a pair of matching 82's on Friday and Saturday. Campbell finished one shot out of 4th place and only five away from the low medalists. Campbell's freshman counterpart Jenna VandenBerg jumped twelve spots on the final day to finish tied for 24th place. VandenBerg carded rounds of 92 and 85, respectively, over the two day competition.

 

Senior Kylie Day shot an 89 on Friday, and followed that with a 95 during the final round of play to finish tied for 35th. Macenzie Lane carded a 91 during the first round and dropped seven strokes Saturday for a 98, to finish tied for 39th. Freshman Maisie Nugent rounded out the Saints lineup moving up three spots on the final day to finish in 49th place. 

 

The women's golf team will compete in the CCAC Championships April 27th and 28th.
