[Men's Golf] Mens Golf: Points Francisco de Oliviera Named Semifinalist for Jack Nicklaus Award
NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Wednesday, April 26 that Point University's Francisco de Oliviera (JR/Algarve, Portugal) has been named as one of 30 semifinalists from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) for the prestigious Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award presented by Barbasol.
De Oliviera was named Appalachian Athletics Conference Men's Golfer of the Year, made the All-AAC first team and the AAC All-Academic team, and was named AAC Men's Golfer of the Week twice and NAIA National Men's Golfer of the Week during the spring, 2017 season. Point University won the NAIA-AAC Direct Golfer, April 24-25, by a mere one stroke and won its first AAC Tournament championship and qualified as a team to play at the NAIA National Men's Golf Championships at the TFC Deere Run in Moline, Ill, May 16-19
