Portugal Golf: Sun, Swings & Pilates Flow

There’s something special about taking a week away to focus on your golf – not just your game and swing, but your body, movement, and overall well-being. Our recent trip to Tavira, Portugal was exactly that: the perfect balance of Golf, Coaching, Pilates, and restorative recovery.

Morning Warm-Up: The Golf Pilates & Posture Flow

Our pre-round Pilates and Posture sessions took place either in the studio or on the practice range, depending on the coaching schedule and tee times. These dynamic routines focused on opening up the hips and shoulders, improving rotation, and activating the muscles needed for golf. The result? Everyone felt looser, stronger, and ready to play from the first tee.

By midweek, many commented on how much freer their swings felt, and how much better their bodies were moving.

The Pilates and Posture sessions made me feel very relaxed and positive about my golf. They really helped both before and after play. Id definitely attend another Golf & Pilates holiday, and I plan to keep Pilates as part of my weekly routine.

Restorative Sessions: Recover, Reset, Repeat

After golf, we came together again for a 45-minute Restorative Pilates and stretch session – designed to release tension from the day’s play. These sessions were just as important as the warm-up, helping everyone stay injury-free, reduce stiffness, and recover well enough to play comfortably all week.

It was particularly rewarding to see players who said they often struggle with back or hip tightness finish the week feeling stronger and more mobile than when they arrived.

I came away feeling great, and the addition of Pilates to the week definitely helped with sleep and recovery. As you know, Im new to Pilates, but you made it so easy. Ill be looking out for future Golf & Pilates events.

Looking Ahead

The combination of great courses, daily Pilates, and a brilliant group made it a week that genuinely improved everyone’s golf and how they felt in their bodies.  We even had a group Padel session on the day off for good measure, with 8 participants enjoying a different sport.
