  1. High Performance Manager (Professional Squad & Coach Development)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Professional Program Management

  • To manage the SGA Professional Program and foster player improvement, with the goal of having four (4) Singaporean’s compete at each summer Olympics from 2032 onwards.
  • To provide a progress report every six (6) months showing the progress of the athletes within the SGA Professional Program
  • To review applications, interview suitable candidates and select the SGA Professional Program squad annually.
  • To allocate the SGA Professional Program budget appropriately amongst the squad members.
  • To ensure that the funds allocated to each athlete target key area’s necessary for improvement (based on statistical analysis and the interview process).
  • To set clear and achievable KPI’s for each athlete
  • To ensure weekly interaction with each athlete, checking in on their performances, reviewing their statistics and giving them guidance around areas to target for long term improvement as well as for upcoming events
  • To assist each athlete with developing a worldclass support team
  • To assist the athletes with managing their annual tournament schedule, selecting which events to compete in and which qualifying schools to attend with their long-term goals in mind.
  • To attend two professional events to watch the athletes compete (likely the Singapore Open and Singapore Women’s Open)
  • To conduct two (2) training camps each year with SGA where:
  • Player improvement plans are conducted in person
  • Benchmarking tests are conducted
  • Education around practice, preparation and performance are provided

Coach Development

  • Develop a National Coaching Curriculum aligned with the SGA Player/Coach Development Pathway.
  • Integrate the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework with a strong emphasis on Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) into junior golf coaching practices.
  • Conduct regular online coaching workshops (monthly) and in-person clinics (annually) to upskill local coaching talent.
  • Work with CoachSG  to recognise and certify SGA-approved coaches:
  • Level 1 – Grassroots Coach: Introduction to LTAD & FMS
  • Level 2 – Junior Development Coach
  • Level 3 – High Performance Development Coach
  • Serve as a catalyst for creating a sustainable succession pipeline of local coaches capable of supporting national teams and high-performance athletes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience mentoring or managing elite/professional athletes in a high-performance
  • Strong understanding of professional tour structures (Asian Tour, DPWT, LPGA, etc.).
  • Coaching credentials (e.g., PGA certification) with experience in coach education, curriculum development, or mentorship preferred.
  • Familiarity with LTAD principles and integrating athletic development in youth sports programs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in cross-cultural and developmental contexts.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage both strategic and operational aspects of the role.
  • Experience in securing sponsorships or funding for athlete and coaching programs is advantageous.
