Club 50th Year Celebration

On Saturday 25th October Captain Michael Buggy presided over a night of celebration and reminiscences of 50 great years since our club moved to Drumgoole in 1975, and 90 years since the club was founded. On this very special occasion,  past captains and Presidents were honoured and recognised for their leadership and service to Castlecomer Golf Club.

A special commemorative scroll was presented to each and the honour of Lifetime Pavilion Membership of the Club was bestowed in thanks for their contribution to the club. All deceased members were acknowledged by a respectful short silence, before a most interesting and informative historical recollection was given by past Captain and past President Michael Rowe on the foundations of the Club and its move from Cloudmount to Drumgoole in 1975,  following the acquisition of the lands that are now home to the club.

Captain at that time of change Pat Kelly also gave a very interesting and informative account of the move . The present and future of the Club was analysed by a panel of key members in a Q & A session hosted by Nicky Walsh. The many members, friends and family present were assured of our clubs positive position as we go forward. A night that will be remembered for many years to come.
