Syngenta has named Ben Anderson to its expanding Digital Platforms team, charging him with supporting and growing the adoption of Spiio technology throughout the southeastern United States. Anderson, based in Atlanta, brings both technical expertise and a customer-oriented approach to this new role, according to Syngenta.

With more than 15 years in the turf industry, Anderson has served as a Certified Golf Course Superintendent and played key roles, including capital asset manager at Club Benchmarking. There, he devised data-driven asset plans for private clubs — a skill set increasingly vital as precision technologies like Spiio drive better turf health and resource management. Previously, Anderson managed the South Course at Cherokee Town and Country Club where he implemented innovative moisture management solutions.

Across the golf industry, digital platforms like Spiio are transforming course management. Spiio sensors stream real-time, hyperlocal soil data, allowing turf managers to optimize irrigation and treatment schedules — improving sustainability and playability while reducing environmental impact. With climate change sharpening focus on water efficiency and disease prevention, these platforms provide actionable data for superintendents and club managers.

Anderson’s blend of hands-on turf management and analytic experience aligns with Syngenta’s push for data-driven decision making. As Southeast sales specialist, he will work directly with turf and ornamental managers, helping them leverage Spiio’s real-time insights to tackle agronomic challenges.

“I look forward to reaching a territory that spans the entire Southeast,” Anderson said. He also emphasized his excitement for advancing industry best practices.

Syngenta’s investment in digital platforms is part of a broader industry trend toward precision turf management, as golf courses increasingly adopt technology to boost efficiency, sustainability and quality of play.

Syngenta stated that as technology adoption accelerates across golf and landscaping, stakeholders — superintendents, club owners and the industry at large — stand to benefit from informed, sustainable solutions. Anderson’s role signals Syngenta’s ongoing commitment to supporting turf professionals in making smarter, data-backed choices, according to the company.
