Kennedy Swedick disqualified from Casella Golf Championship
GUILDERLAND, NY (NEWS10) -- Former Albany Academy golf star Kennedy Swedick was disqualified from the Epson Tour's Casella Golf Championship at Pinehaven Country Club on Friday. Swedick's caddie, Anders Mattson, was using a yardage book that was not approved.
The Epson Tour is the qualifying tour for the LPGA. The LPGA issued the following statement:
“The player was in violation of Model Local Rule G-11. The caddie was not using a committee approved yardage book. The first breach is the General Penalty, the second breach is a disqualification.”

Swedick just finished her Freshman year at Virginia University. The three-time state champion is not on the Epson tour, but was invited to participate in this event because she is a local product.
Swedick was six over par through 10 holes. Sarah Kahn and Sophie Schubert are tied for the lead after round one at four under par.
