Junior Newton Shield and Quaich Update

Our Junior Newton Shield and Quaich teams are halfway through their league campaigns. At this point, both teams are in a favourable position in their leagues.

The Junior Newton Shield team has only Paisley and Kilmacolm to contend with this season in our league. The Team has faced the highs and lows of match-play golf, starting with back-to-back away matches.

In our first away match, the Shield team faced Paisley. On the night, the team secured three wins out of four. The following week, the team faced Kilmacolm, a traditionally strong junior team, and failed to secure a win in any of the matches.

The Shield team will take a break this week and then face Paisley at home on the 30th of May. Another home tie will follow this, this time against Paisley, on the 6th of June.

The Quaich team has faced Renfrew, Paisley and Kilmacolm in their league.

Kicking off their campaign, the Quaich team secured a draw against Renfrew in their opening match at home.

A trip to Paisley, where the Quaich team secured another draw, followed by a recent win for the Quaich at Kilmacolm, means that they are undefeated going into the second half of their campaign.

The Quaich team is back at it this Friday with their away match against Renfrew. They will then play home matches against Paisley on the 30th of May and against Kilmacolm on the 6th of June.
