AFTER a lull, terror groups have re-intensified attacks on military formations and civilian populations. On January 6, they killed six soldiers in a predawn attack in Borno State. On January 24, they killed 20 troops and wounded more, using improvised explosive devices and suicide bombers, military spokesman Edward Buba said.On Tuesday, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno said Boko Haram was regaining momentum. “As I address this important gathering today, it is unfortunate that the renewed Boko Haram attacks and kidnappings in many communities, almost on a daily basis, without confrontation, signal that Borno State is losing ground,” Zulum told a security meeting.
