COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The fourth annual Keep Pushin' To End Brain Cancer Golf Tournament is set to tee off on Monday, May 19 to honor Bob Desautels. According to event organizers, the fundraiser will be held at the Colonie Golf and Country Club, with a noon shotgun start.

Desautels was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumor in December 2021. In the time following his diagnosis, he began fundraising to help find a cure for the disease, starting the golf tournament in 2022.

In April 2023, Desautels passed away, but his friends and family continue to fundraise to find a cure.

"Bob’s kindness and unwavering determination to beat this disease is what brings us here on this day. We honor Bob Desautels legacy by continuing his goal; Keep Pushin’ To End Brain Cancer," organizers said.

According to organizers, the fundraiser raises money for brain cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, for advancements in treatment to bring families and patients hope when fighting Cancer. All proceeds from the event will go to the Jimmy Fund in conjunction with the research department.

The golf tournament has a $185 golfer entry fee. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. with a grilled lunch. The fundraiser will end with an awards dinner, with prizes for long drive, closest to the pin and putting and chipping games.
