Course of the Week: Graves Golf Club opens in Oklahoma
This latest Course of the Week is the newly opened Graves Golf Club in Edmond, Okla. Graves Golf Club is a 6-hole track that can be played three times around for an 18-hole, par-72 experience in addition to it’s world-class training facility. The facility is owned and operated by renowned golf instructors Tim and Todd Graves and designed by Smyers, Craig and Coyne (SCC) Golf Design.
The club is dedicated to teaching the single-plane swing, a method popularized by the legendary Moe Norman. In keeping with the straightforward nature of their swing philosophy, SCC Design has crafted a golf course characterized by striking geometric features and distinctive rectangular bunkering.
Colton Craig, a partner at SCC Design, has relocated his full-time residence to the Graves Golf Club property. His new home places his front door conveniently close to the practice area.
Steve Smyers, a principal at SCC, playfully commented on Craig’s move, stating, “Now he has no excuses to get better!”
