According to government estimates, this could result in an additional £1,400 per annum for a full-time worker on the minimum wage.However, the exact earnings from the increase will depend on the number of hours worked. For instance, once the increase is implemented, a person aged 21 and over will earn £12.21 per hour, while someone aged 18 to 20 will earn £10 per hour.‌Deputy PM Angela Rayner previously emphasised the government's commitment to the wage rise, stating: "A proper day's work deserves a proper day's pay.
