Schenectady Municipal Golf Course opens for season

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Golf season is officially underway in the city of Schenectady. Mayor Gary McCarthy hit the ceremonial first ball of the season at the Municipal Golf Course on Monday.
The annual raffle benefited the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society this year. The first place raffle included a round of golf with carts for two people, a one-hour lesson by head professional Matt Daley and a gift card to The Parlor. The second prize was one round of golf for two people and two hats, and the third prize was a dozen golf balls.
The course also celebrated new clubhouse operator Thomas Nicchi as well as improvements, including clubhouse renovations and a new irrigation system to keep the greens in prime condition.
