In what was a blustery and cold weekend Rick Baird of North Carolina came from behind to tie Tim Tally to send the tournament into an 18 hole playoff. Both men shot their hearts out trying to secure their position in what was an exciting USPMGA tournament.
Tim led most of the way and played the steadiest of all, but Rick found a way in the final round to tie him. Hats off to both of the players for their skill and down right gutsy performance.
Rick has won the tournament now two out of three times in North Myrtle Beach! He is extremely dangerous on the Pineapple course!
Other players in the field included three time 3rd place finisher Ventura and newcomer from Florence Kentucky, Tom Butler who finished 7th overall.
Graham Sigmon won the Amateur Division with Chase Furgeson coming in second and Russel Sigmon Jr. coming in 3rd including his low score overall in the tournament of 29.
Thanks to all who came out and endured the cold and wind and continue on a tradition that is slowly building.
Thanks to Bob and Ted Detwiler for having us all to the course.
A huge thanks to Pete and Rachel Corcoran for all the hard work they did to accomplish the tournament running smooth.
