Augusta National’s swift and secret rebuild ahead of the 2025 Masters
Rory McIlroy made some headlines last week after making an early stop at Augusta National prior to the Texas Children’s Houston Open at Memorial Park GC.
Last fall, Hurricane Helene tore through the Southeast U.S., and in its path was Augusta National. From what we know, Augusta experienced damage as a result of Hurricane Helene. Augusta has not released any information surrounding the damage or rebuilding effort.
Although it’ll be unlikely to notice any difference in how the course plays during the Masters, something to look out for is how many of the Georgia Pines you see standing compared to previous years when they are coming up the back nine on Sunday.
