Donald Trump Makes Telling Admission After Golf Championship
United States President Donald Trump is an avid golfer who has spent a lot of time on his various golf courses over the years, but a telling admission from the president seems to indicate that it's about time for him to hang up his golf clubs – at least competitively.
In a post on Truth Social this week, Trump shared that he once again won the Golf Club Championship at his Trump International Golf Club in Florida.
The result of the championship was not all that surprising. After all, Trump has claimed victories at this event for the past several years.
However, in the midst of celebrating his victory, he did make a telling admission that this was likely the last time he would be participating in this competition.
"I just won the Golf Club Championship, probably my last, at Trump International Golf Club, in Palm Beach County, Florida. Such a great honor! The Awards dinner is tonight, at the Club. I want to thank the wonderful Golf Staff, and all of the many fantastic golfers, that participated in the event. Such fun!" Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social over the weekend.
It's not clear why Trump believed this would be his last time participating in the tournament, but he is 78 years old and is obviously not in the same physical condition that he used to be.
Even if Trump does decide to slow down playing golf, it's unlikely that he'll be stepping away from the sport completely. After all, the president owns 16 golf courses around the world, including 12 in the United States, two in Scotland, one in Ireland, and one in the UAE.
Trump has also taken an active role in trying to reunite professional golf and broker an agreement between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. He even hosted a meeting between the rival professional golf leagues at the White House last month after taking office.
