SGA Volunteer Policy
Purpose
- Recruit, train, and recognize volunteers to support SGA tournaments and develop future volunteer leaders.
- Definition: A volunteer is an individual who performs tasks for SGA without compensation, except for reimbursement.
Objectives
- Build and maintain a database of active volunteers.
- Recruit volunteers interested in supporting SGA tournaments.
Volunteer Recruitment & Expectations
- Volunteers assist with admin, logistics, and scoring.
- Training is provided before each tournament.
- Volunteers should notify SGA if they cannot attend and may find substitutes.
- Those with conflicts of interest cannot volunteer.
- Volunteer opportunities will be shared via WhatsApp groups.
Deployment & Communication
- Volunteers will be assigned roles as needed.
- Confirmed volunteers will be added to a WhatsApp group for coordination.
- Volunteers may resign but should provide advance notice.
Code of Conduct & Commitment
- Volunteers must act professionally, respect others, and maintain confidentiality.
- Commitment to assigned schedules, punctuality, and reliability is expected.
- Volunteers must follow safety regulations and emergency procedures.
- SGA promotes inclusivity and prohibits harassment or discrimination.
Termination & Recognition
- SGA may remove volunteers who violate policies or disrupt operations.
- Volunteers may receive benefits such as:
- Appreciation meals
- Apparel (e.g., shirts, caps)
- Volunteers will receive two shirts: one before the event and a second upon completing their volunteer service.
- Meals during volunteer days
