Skim provides 800,000 measurements per turf condition diagnostic based on satellite imagery. Turf condition diagnostics are frequently updated, reaching an average of 20 images/month in Arizona. The process is entirely remote and automated, removing hardware maintenance or manual processes. Golf courses receive continuous monitoring of 17 key parameters that influence turf health. According to Skim, as a result, golf course managers benefit from a growing database of knowledge of their golf course, allowing them to perform deep analytics and try innovative strategies while controlling their impact.

With the newly released software update, users can navigate data for their entire course about vegetation: biomass (NDVI), turfgrass quality (PVR), chlorophyll (NDRE), turfgrass density (GLI); nutrients and micronutrients (N, P, K, Mg, Ca, Na, Fe, B, S, Zn, Cu, Mn); and soil moisture.

Additionally, Skim Turf allows for registration of on-course measurements/activities through both a web application and a mobile app, allowing users to quickly add or update information as needed. While scouting, the mobile app allows users to add alerts and measurements in a few seconds. All data is centralized and allows any user to review, comment or edit it. You can keep track of all your data in one spot by inputting green speeds, clipping yields, and cultural notes to generate alerts, assigning staff or keeping track of pictures from areas of interest.

“How is it possible to obtain turf condition data at scale and work on it without time-consuming tools or processes?” is the most commonly question asked by superintendents according to Frederic Paczkowski, general manager at SKIM Turf Management.

“That’s why our vision is to bring cutting-edge technologies like AI and satellite imagery to allow golf courses to focus on decision-making, precise allocation of resources and improving turf conditions” he adds.
