Newsletter | February 2025

I trust you are all ready for our Club Champs this year and who the winners will be?? I believe we have more possible candidates this year in the A Div.
Are the Young Guys up to it or will it be one of the Old Dogs? Who will triumph – only time will tell.
All the best to you that participate – It’s not in the winning but being a part of the challenge good luck to you all

Our Greens Management and Staff are working extremely hard to prepare the course in the best possible condition for the Club Champs. With our current water situation it has mad work difficult and we thank them for their efforts.

Unfortunately Craig Helstrip, our Green Keeper, has decided to move on to further his career after being with the Club for 20 years. We thank him for all he has done and wish him success in his new career choice.

The Project that I failed to get done and still believe it would enhance our Golf Club.

Projects we completed this month: Pump house at the 7th Dam and one at the Fresh Water Dam.

With the AGM upon us I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of the Committee Members for their time and effort put into the running of our Golf Club. Serving as a committee member is one of the toughest volunteer roles of all and it is performed with dedication and tenacity. On both professional and personal level.

From the Range, Arno has continued to enhance the Driving Range with the addition of a Bunker and a Putting Green. For those who haven’t visited the Driving Range, we encourage you to bring your Clubs and pay him a visit.

It’s easier to let go of something if you’re going to get something better. You don’t let go just for the sake of letting go. You let go only because tomorrow looks better than yesterday.

Happy Golfing

Monthly Golf Fixtures & Results

From the Lady Captain

Hello All

Well there we go… we blink and February has passed us by.

We played our first league game in our new attire and received compliments from everyone. We are very grateful to the Club for affording us with these and a huge thank you to Kyle for all the trouble he went to. Very much appreciated.

Monday 17 Feb, Tanya Williams played in the WP Town vs Country event. As Tanya says she thoroughly enjoyed the experience – she played one of her best ever games, but unfortunately did not win, but WP beat Country. Well done Tanya.

Congratulations goes out to Casey Hattle on winning the Ladies “Champion of Champions”. A deserving & fitting win.

Congratulations to Lesley MacFarlane on winning The Harris Cup Trophy. Her first round with a Nett 66 then to come to the 2nd round fighting the natural forces with a Nett 79 making her the winner by 8 shots. Well played Les!

Karien Van Rooyen plays her Final Match Play at Fancourt on Friday, 28th Feb. This newsletter won’t be out, but Karien you will be in our thoughts and we wish you all the best – stay focused and enjoy. We look forward to the result.
