Course of the Week: Dublin Ranch Golf Course
A par-63 executive course, Dublin Ranch Golf Course in Dublin, Calif.. Dublin Ranch is a Robert Trent Jones Jr. Design owned and operated by Kemper Sports, with eleven par-3s, five par-4s and two par-5s. Dublin Ranch offers views of the Livermore Valley and Mt. Diablo in California’s Bay Area.
Dublin Ranch became the first golf course in the United States to acquire a Nexmow robotic mower fleet at the end of 2024.
“We couldn’t do it without them, especially in the winter when we get so much rain that I can’t get any other mowing equipment on the course,” Danny Fielder, superintendent at Dublin Ranch said.
The robots’ light footprint (74 lbs) allows the Dublin Ranch team to place mowers in sensitive turf areas and areas that are typically too wet to mow with conventional heavy turf equipment. According to Fielder and Dublin Ranch, with the Nexmow units, ruts and turf damage are a thing of the past in wet conditions.
