John Deere names top golf dealer of 2025 and Turf Bowl winner at GCSAA Conference
John Deere hosted a special ceremony to recognize its top golf dealer at the 2025 Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) Conference and Trade Show in San Diego.
The company named Beard Equipment its Golf Dealer of the Year during a presentation at the conference.
“Our dealers play a crucial role in supporting the golf industry, and thanks to their dedication, we’ve earned the trust of top courses worldwide,” said Manny Gan, global director of golf at John Deere. “These dealerships are essential tools in maintaining the integrity of courses across the country and elevating the quality of play for every golfer. We’re especially proud to honor Beard Equipment today for its outstanding commitment to customer care and its continued efforts to grow the game of golf.”
Penn State takes Turf Bowl crown
Also, at the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show, John Deere announced Penn State University’s Team No. 1 as the winner of the 2025 GCSAA Collegiate Turf Bowl. As the winner, Penn State No. 1 received a traveling trophy and a $4,000 cash prize.
The 2025 GCSAA Collegiate Turf Bowl gave 76 student teams from 29 colleges and universities across the United States a unique opportunity to demonstrate their industry knowledge and problem-solving skills.
The winning team from Penn State University demonstrated its resourcefulness through a series of tests simulating the high-pressure situations that superintendents face every day. Students from across the country gained monumental real-world experience and the top teams earned a combined total of $10,000 in cash and prizes.
“Watching the next generation of golf industry professionals put their skills to the test is an incredibly rewarding experience,” said Manny Gan, global director of golf at John Deere. “Each year, Turf Bowl participants raise the bar, continually demonstrating the expertise needed to succeed in this field, and Penn State University’s Team No. 1 winning performance this year is a perfect example of that.
