ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Fall is here and golf courses around the Capital Region are beginning to close for the season. However, a group of courses around the Capital Region and the Hudson Valley are hanging on to the season, with tee times still available.

Typically golf courses close from November to February, March or early April, depending on weather conditions. During the Winter, golf courses in New York close to protect and winterize courses and putting greens.

Rain, snow and ice can leave courses wet and soft, leaving them open to potential damage. Since the weather in the Capital Region has been dry and cool, these golf courses are extending tee times into mid-to-late November.

Capital Region:

  • Barney Road Golf Course, 1 Barney Road, Clifton Park
    • Final tee times are available Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

    • Tee times available until Nov. 22
  • Van Patten Golf Club, 924 Main Street, Clifton Park

    • Each day through Nov. 24, golfers can win one 20–25-pound turkey per day, by hitting closest to the pin on the VP Suites golf simulator.
  • Pheasant Hollow Golf Course, 2670 Phillips Road, East Greenbush
    • Tea times are available until Nov. 17.

Hudson Valley:

  • Island Green, 3822 County Route 26, Greenville
    • Tee times are available until Saturday, Nov. 16.
  • The Swan Golf and Country Club, 1754 Old Kings Road, Saugerties
    • Tee times are available currently until Nov. 27.
  • Copake Country Club, 44 Golf Course Road, Craryville
