The New V1 Coach App: A Review from Brendon Elliott

As a long-time friend of V1 and a user of the previous V1 PRO, I was excited to do some beta testing of the new V1 COACH app recently, prior to its release. First and foremost, I must say that I was thoroughly impressed. Beyond being a PGA coach, I am also a 44-year admirer of the game, and with that, I am always on the lookout for tools and applications that can help me improve my own game in addition to helping my students. The new V1 COACH app did not at all disappoint in either of those areas.

Upon opening the V1 COACH app, I was immediately impressed by its clean and intuitive user interface. It gave me a sense of control over my journey, allowing me to navigate through its features effortlessly. The uncluttered home screen and straightforward menus made accessing the app’s core functionalities a breeze, ensuring I never felt overwhelmed by unnecessary buttons or menus.

One of the standout features of the V1 COACH app is, of course, its video analysis capabilities. V1 Sports is the OG in this capacity. The app allows coaches to record their student’s golf swings within the app itself and quickly analyze them frame by frame. Additionally, you can have your students send you videos they shoot on their own right to you in the app, saving you time and effort.

Each student will have a “locker” that you will set up for them, which will store all of their analyzed and raw videos. I found this feature incredibly helpful in identifying each student I work with and keeping all of their captured swings straight.

For long-time V1 PRO users, you know all about the analysis tools at your disposal. Lines, circles, boxes, the ability to compare swings side by side with professional golfers, and even overlays… it’s all there. Of course, you have access to a massive library of model swings to choose from, and you can even record and store your own drills to use and share with students.

In addition to video analysis, the new V1 COACH app now offers a way to stay in constant communication with your students through a personalized chat feature. This feature will become invaluable going forward, as it allows you and your students to chat back and forth within the app itself and in close proximity to save videos for reference. This personalized coaching communication feature now sets the V1 COACH app apart from similar applications on the market and adds a human touch to the digital swing analysis experience, fostering a sense of connection and engagement.

The V1 COACH app is a comprehensive solution that exceeded my expectations in every aspect. Its user-friendly interface, powerful video analysis tools, ability to create and house training drills, and community features will undoubtedly meet all your golf coaching needs. Whether you’re new to using V1 or a veteran, this new V1 COACH app is a valuable companion to your existing coaching toolbox, and I highly recommend it.
