Introducing sensational Team USA men’s golf team for 2024 Olympics

The 2024 Paris Olympics men's golf competition begins Thursday. Let’s look at Team USA and what these four have done this season.

Each morning will feature a Golf Talk Today, in which the crew will discuss various elements of the PGA Tour, LIV Golf and other professional golf tournaments.

The 2024 Paris Olympics are here, and the men’s golf competition begins on Thursday. Sixty men will compete in a 72-hole stroke-play event.

Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Wyndham Clark represent Team USA this week.

They will compete for Gold, Silver and Bronze at Le Golf National, the 2018 Ryder Cup host.

Before the Olympics begins, let’s examine the four-man Team USA squad and what they have accomplished so far in 2024.

Scottie Scheffler

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the first player on this Olympic roster.

It has been Scheffler's year, as the top-ranked player already has six wins on the season.

In 16 events, the former Texas Longhorn has six victories, two runner-ups, 14 top-10s and 15 top-25s. He has won $28,148,691 in this season alone.

Scheffler took home his second Green Jacket and was victorious in four of the eight Signature Events. His worst finish came at the U.S. Open with a T41. In the two other majors, he went T8 at Valhalla Golf Club for the PGA Championship and T7 at the Open.

A gold medal would just add to his historic run in 2024.

Xander Schauffele

Team USA’s next player on the roster is World No. 2 Xander Schauffele. This season has been massive for him as both of his victories were major championships.

In 18 events, Schauffele has two wins, two runner-ups, 12 Top 10s and 17 Top 25s. The 30-year-old has won $15,867,160 this season, second behind Scheffler.

Schauffele won the 2021 Olympic Gold Medal in Tokyo. He is the favorite for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Collin Morikawa

The third member of Team USA is Collin Morikawa. He has not won in 2024 but came close multiple times. Morikawa currently sits at No. 6 in the Official World Golf Rankings and has six career victories.

In 18 events, the 27-year-old has one runner-up finish, seven Top 10s, and 14 Top 25s. Morikawa finished T3 at the Masters, T4 at the PGA Championship, T14 at the U.S. Open and T16 at the Open.

He was also runner-up at the Memorial earlier in the season.

Morikawa also competed in the 2021 Toyko Olympic Games but narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth behind bronze medalist C.T. Pan.

Wyndham Clark

Last but not least, Wyndham Clark takes the fourth spot for Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Clark has not had the best season, but he did get one victory early on in the 2024 season at the Pebble Beach Pro-AM. He also challenged Scheffler at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Players Championship.

Since those incredible finishes, though, Clark has not lived up to the hype his 2023 U.S. Open win brought.

Through 17 events, he has one victory, two runner-up finishes, six Top 10s and six Top 25s. Clark made 12 of 17 cuts this season. In the four majors, he missed the cut at the Masters, PGA Championship and The Open. He was T56 at the U.S. Open.
