Choose a New Driver With ChatGPT

0 4

Golf clubs are expensive, there’s no doubt about it, so choosing a new club or set of clubs is a big deal. I have had the same driver since about 2012 and I love it, but I’m beginning to notice an odd sound when I tee off. So, I’m on the hunt for a new one.

It’s always best to be fitted by a professional when you’re in the market and that’s how I landed on my PING G20…unfortunately NOT the pink Bubba Watson version that came out just after I purchased mine. But, I’ve created this Chat GPT formula to get started shopping.

Copy and paste this formula into Chat GPT and fill in the blanks:

Help me pick a new driver. I’m a _____ , _____ handed, __ handicap, my miss is ____, and I currently have a ________ with a ______ flex shaft.

Let’s Ask Chat GPT to Pick a Driver

“Help me pick a new driver. I’m a female, right handed, 14 handicap, my miss is right, and I currently have a PING G20 with a regular flex shaft.”

Given your specifications and current setup, you’re looking for a driver that can help correct your right miss while offering more forgiveness and possibly better distance. Here’s a focused approach to help you pick the best driver:

Key Considerations:

  1. Adjustability: Look for drivers with adjustable settings to fine-tune loft and face angle, which can help mitigate a right miss.
  2. Draw Bias: Drivers with draw-bias weighting can help counteract the tendency to miss right by promoting a leftward ball flight.
  3. Shaft Flex: Since you’re currently using a regular flex shaft, it’s crucial to ensure the new driver has a shaft with a similar or suitable flex for your swing speed.
  4. Head Design: Consider a driver with a larger sweet spot and a forgiving design to help with accuracy and distance.

Recommended Drivers:

  1. TaylorMade Stealth 2 HD:
    – Features: Draw-bias design, adjustable loft and face angle, and a large sweet spot.
     – Why: The Stealth 2 HD is designed to promote a draw, making it a good option to counteract your right miss. TaylorMade’s adjustable features also allow you to fine-tune the driver to your liking.

  1. Callaway Paradym X:
    – Features: High forgiveness, draw bias, adjustable loft.
    – Why: The Paradym X is designed to provide high forgiveness and a draw-biased setup, which could help with your right miss. Callaway drivers are also known for their distance and accuracy.

  1. Ping G425 SFT:
    – Features: Draw-biased design, adjustable settings, and a forgiving face

    – Why: As a current PING user, the G425 SFT (Straight Flight Technology) is specifically designed to help correct right-side misses with its draw-bias weighting.

  1. Titleist TSR2:
    – Features: Adjustable loft and a focus on high launch and forgiveness.
    – Why: The TSR2 offers excellent adjustability and forgiveness. While not specifically draw-biased, it provides an adjustable option to help mitigate your right miss.

Additional Tips:

– Get Fitted: A professional fitting can ensure you get the right shaft flex and driver specifications tailored to your swing.

– Try Before You Buy: If possible, test these drivers on a launch monitor or at a fitting session to see which one performs best for you.

By considering these options and factors, you’ll be better positioned to find a driver that enhances your game and helps with your right miss.

My Thoughts on the Results

While this is just for some primary research and for fun, as my plan is to get fitted, it seems incredibly accurate. Based on these results, my starting point would be with the PING G425 SFT as I’m already comfortable with the feel and sound of my PING G Series. Also, Key Consideration #4 is very important to me, give me the biggest sweet spot ya got!

Overall, the best part of the Chat GPT feedback is the Additional Tips: Get Fitted and Try Before You Buy. That’s the best advice when looking for any new clubs.

If you’re on the hunt like me, try this formula to get some feedback and information and then HAPPY SHOPPING!
