Adidas Reveals Codechaos 25, Its Latest Spikeless Golf Shoe
Adidas has revealed Codechaos 25, the latest golf shoe in its spikeless footwear line known as Codechaos. Available in a Boa model and a lace-up version, the new shoes include a redesigned outsole and upper to improve traction and stability for golfers. The shoe is set for release on Aug. 1, with the laced iteration available in the U.S. on Nov. 1.
Codechaos 25’s updated outsole includes a 3D Torsion plate to assist with stability whilst golfers swing and walk around the course. Adidas also reports that this upgrade improves overall fit and reduces midfoot bend. The existing Twistgrip outsole has been enhanced with a lug shape covering a larger surface area of the outsole, also contributing to improved traction.
Adidas teamed up with Boa engineers to include a PerformFit Wrap on the Boa model of Codechaos 25, available for men and women. The PerformFit Wrap is covered in a zipper shroud and aspires to “provide a locked-in feel with additional stability,” per Adidas.
Meanwhile, the Codechaos 25 midsole features a blend of Boost and Lightstrike technologies to provide comfort and stability. The multi-layer knit upper is intended to offer additional flexibility with a soft and moisture-wicking bottom layer, an open-structure jacquard middle layer, and a “sporty” mesh outer layer. A sheer PU film allows a peek inside the upper and boasts a waterproof design.
Masun Denison, global footwear director of Adidas Golf, made a statement on the upcoming release.
“Nearly 5 years ago, we made the bold move to introduce Codechaos when traditional spikeless models were saturating the market,” Denison said. “The impact this footwear had then and continues to have now is another proof point for us that golfers are continuing to look for spikeless performance in athletic and non-traditional silhouettes. Codechaos 25 represents a milestone for us on how we’ve made this shoe better over the past 5 years, especially during a time where golf has seen such tremendous growth and participation.”
