Golf fans loved how Bryson DeChambeau found Xander Schauffele to congratulate him on PGA Championship win in classy moment

0 9

Since making his professional debut nine years ago, Xander Schauffele had spent his entire career knocking on the door of a major title … but just coming up short. That changed on Sunday even as Bryson DeChambeau looked poised to force a playoff.

But you have to give DeChambeau credit: He handled the defeat with class.

Schauffele won the 106th PGA Championship with his clutch birdie putt on 18 to walk off with the major win. Had Schauffele settled for par on the hole, he would have went into a three-hole playoff against DeChambeau who instead had to settle for second place.

As Schauffele was making the walk from 18 to sign his scorecard, DeChambeau made sure to find the PGA champ and congratulate him on the win. Jim Nantz — who was calling the tournament for CBS — was quick to point out the classy gesture.

Golf fans also loved that sportsmanship as DeChambeau clearly went out of his way to find Schauffele right after the win.
