Congratulations to Luke Grieg, part of the team at South Mountain Community College, Phoenix, AZ, USA.

Sophomore Luke Greig carded a 7-under 137, including a 5-under 67 in the second round, to claim the individual medalist honors at the season-opening Mesa Thunderbird Classic on Feb. 13-14 at Dobson Ranch Golf Course in Mesa, Ariz. As a team, SMCC captured the team title at 25-under 551 with scores of 11-under 277 and 14-under 274.  

Greig opened with a 2-under 70 before improving by three strokes over the final 18 holes. 

Freshman Dillon Dean and sophomore Brady Clark tied for fourth place at 6-under 138 with two rounds of 3-under 69. 

Sophomore Cole Finch finished at 4-under 140 with scores of 3-under 69 and 1-under 71. Sophomore Ryan Blair was one stroke behind Finch at 3-under 141, scoring even-par 72 and 3-under 69. 

Freshman Dylan Kohner finished at 2-over 146 with rounds of even-par 72 and 2-over 74.
