Members playing the Lighthouse hole who have managed to hit the fairway might take a moment to check out the roof as they pass the clubhouse.

Those shiny black things are photo electric solar panels which the club has been able to install thanks to a fifty per cent grant from the Brexit Blue Economy Enterprise Development Scheme administered by BIM, Ireland’s Seafood Development Agency.

The installation is capable of generating up to 25kw of power depending on weather conditions. This should facilitate a significant reduction in the club’s electricity costs and will allow us to export power to the grid.
