[Women's Golf] Birk receives All-KCAC Women's Golf recognition & Champions of Character award
WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University junior Kennedy Birk has been selected to the 2022-23 KCAC Women's Golf second team, the league office announced today (Apr. 24).
Birk (83-85-168) is coming off a third-place individual showing that sparked the Falcons to a runner-up finish at last week's MBU Invitational in Alton, Ill.
Her best showing came in the fall campaign, where Birk fueled the Falcons to a third-place result at the Evangel Fall Invitational (Oct. 11) with a team individual record of 78-78-156 for a top-three individual finish.
Overall this season, the Lawrence, Kan. native has recorded the Falcons' top score on an astounding six occasions.
An upstanding student-athlete off the course, Birk is also the Falcons' KCAC Champions of Character recipient.
"Kennedy is the model of what a student-athlete should be," said Friends women's golf head coach Paul Howe. "Her dedication to the classroom, leadership to the team, work ethic on and off the golf course is incredible and she's an absolute genuine human being. It has been my privilege and honor to be her coach."
Birk and the Falcons are currently competing at the KCAC Championship, which is scheduled to run from today through Wednesday (Apr. 26) at Mariah Hills Golf Course in Dodge City, Kan.
