Rule 13.2b(2) tells us that a ball that accidentally hits the flagstick or the person who removed or is attending it the ball is played as it lies. I picture this situation as a caddy or player who has removed the flagstick and is standing near the hole and is distracted and the ball hits the flagstick or the person who is day dreaming. Does 13.2b (2) still apply when the ball hits a flagstick that had been removed and set aside such that it is more like a club or other equipment left on the green which would lead to a cancel and replay under Rule 11.1?
