Harlee Dean on his day is better than Roberts, but the inconsistency is what kills him. That coupled with his need to run into midfield when the space is left open for him, usually because the other team know to play into his weaknesses, is what limits him from being more than a low tier Championship defender and possibly worse. Add in that neither him nor Roberts are 100% comfortable on the left side of the CB pair, means for me I'd rather get someone more comfortable on the left alongside Roberts.

Although if we don't sign anyone then I agree, Roberts - Dean is our best back two currently at the club, although hopefully Sanderson can have a good season and claim a spot.
