Let’s Eat!
by Noemi Rojas and Yuliana Sandoval, 5th grade students at Momentous School, 2022 ATTBN Junior Reporters
Noemi: My favorite food at the AT&T Bryon Nelson is lunch!
Yuli: My favorite food at the AT&T Bryon Nelson is dessert!
Noemi: Well, have you tried the Mini Banana Créme Pies?
Yuli: Yes! I could eat 20 of them! Have you tried the Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese?
Noemi: Yes, I did, it was fantastic! Who do you suppose made these delicious foods?
Yuli: I heard that Jeremy Campbell’s crew made them.
Noemi: Who’s he?
Yuli: He is the Vice President of Sports and Entertainment at Proof of the Pudding, a catering company based in Atlanta.
Noemi: VP of Sports and Entertainment? What does that mean?
Yuli: That means he manages food and beverages! I wonder if this is hard…
Noemi: Well, let’s go find out!
We had the chance to sit down with Jeremy and he told us a bunch of fascinating facts about his job. This is some of the cool stuff we learned:
- His company spent $900,000 dollars on food and beverages, to get ready for the tournament! (That’s a crazy amount of money!)
- They purchased 40,000 water bottles when they first arrived on-site, and will buy another 40,000 before the week is out. (That’s a lot of water bottles!)
- They’ll make food this week for 30,000- 40,000 people! (Whoa!)
- There are 500 people working to make the food. (Yum!)
- Any leftover food gets donated and not wasted! (Great move!)
Jeremy’s favorite foods at the Nelson are the brisket and the double cheeseburger.
If you’re not sure the food is worth the money, trust us, it’s totally worth it!
