Eamonn Darcy team come up just short

Hard luck to the Eamonn Darcy team who were narrowly beaten by Powerscourt in the final of this competition yesterday morning up in Dun Laoghaire.

On the day, both our foursomes pairs won their matches, David Byrne & Dylan Holmes came from two down after two ( and very nearly three down after three save for a seventy foot putt hole out from Dylan ) to win on seventeen.  Our second pair saw Eddie Lonergan get a new partner this week, Diarmaid McGabhann was unavailable for selection,  Emma having given birth to their baby boy on Tuesday – CONGRATULATIONS to both.  Chris Boylan was paired with Eddie and they played very steady golf to win on sixteen.  Adam Packman lost his singles match on fifteen but all still looked good for Greystones with both Shane O’Connor and Daniel O’Byrne one up on the sixteenth tee. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be our day and both Shane and Dan lost their matches on the eighteenth.
