[Golf] PCC's Chavez Claims Tourney Crown

Providence Christian senior Nicholas Chavez, the program's first recruit in 2017, won last week's Warrior Invitational, hosted by William Jessup at Whitney Oaks Golf Course.  Chavez shot an even par 71 and led the field after the first round by an impressive six strokes, and he followed that up with another 71 in the second round, but now on top by only five strokes.  Despite shooting a six-over 77, Chavez held off the field in the final round to claim the top honors—the first time a Sea Beggar won an overall tournament title.   The PCC team also set a new program standard, finishing 2nd overall, just six strokes back from the winner.
